Your southern family history is often a patchwork of lore and hard to find records. Genealogy in the south can be difficult, especially with records that are sometimes hard to find or are non existent . As a child of the south, I have experienced these challenges. I spent many years searching for members of my family trees, visiting family cemeteries, talking to my older family members, anywhere I thought I could get the information. Much of the information I got was just these, lore and family story, much were incorrect.
My years of studying has helped me learn to discern the difference between family lore and documented fact. Each southern state has it's own specific challenges, but I have been able to think outside boxes to get to the truths. I would like to help you through your journey.
